florapothecarie Wins Second Place in reSET's Entrepreneur Accelerator Program!

For the past five months, I've had the privilege of working alongside 27 fellow entrepreneurs from 21 companies as part of reSET's 2018 Accelerator Program. This past Thursday, eight of us pitched to an audience of about 200, including investors, sponsors, mentors, and more seasoned entrepreneurs. The top three would walk away with grants... and guess what? I got second place!

In addition to this beautiful plaque, I also received a generous grant from reSET's sponsors that gets me even closer to my goal of making florapothecarie my full-time business. I am so grateful to have been part of this incredible program, and honored to receive this award.

Being an entrepreneur isn't easy, especially when you don't come from money and you've got to put in 40 hours a week for someone else before you can grind some more to get your own business off the ground. Programs like reSET's help bring entrepreneurs together who are hustling and feeling the growing pains so we can lean on and support each other, learn from one another, and succeed together.

In reSET, I found a community of amazing, talented, smart, energetic like-minded people who get me. They understand the struggles because they're experiencing them, too, and we can bond over them and work through them together. And we also help each other celebrate our successes. (Including not losing in Jenga!)

Anyway, this is just a quick note to say thank you to reSET, its sponsors, the Venture Showcase judges, the mentors I've met through reSET who have helped me over the past five months, and my fellow cohort members who kicked ass right alongside me. I can't wait to see what we all do next!

P.S. If you're an entrepreneur and feeling totally alone and unsure of how to grow, I've been there. What did I do? I found my people. I took a chance and applied to reSET's Impact Accelerator program. If you're not local to Hartford and can't join reSET, find similar accelerators or incubator programs in your area. Get a free mentor through SCORE. Go to entrepreneur meetups (maybe through The Rising Tide Society? Or Being Boss? I'll be at Being Boss NOLA this September!)
