Dear beautiful soul,
Many of us are still hurting today. I admit, I am still a little frightened by the unexpected turn in American politics. I spent the last few days slowing down, grieving, and thinking both inward and outward about how this presidency will affect me, my loved ones, my country, and those on the fringes. We are all unsure of what the future will bring. But after two days of grieving, crying, and being afraid, I came to a resolution: I will continue to stand for love, equality, and peace.
florapothecarie was built on my firm belief that we are all beautiful, loving creatures of light. Even when there is darkness, we must find beauty and light within ourselves and others in order to overcome, grow, and move onward.
For those of us who need a reminder that there is love and light in the world, I leave you with words from two of the wisest men from reality and fiction. (We have a wise woman to thank for the latter.)
The rest of this quote goes: "There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it — always."
If you are feeling discouraged, sad, and lost, I implore you to react with love instead of hate. Understand that no matter what side we are on, we are looking for change, and many of us are acting out of fear. Seek love when you need it, and give love to those who need it even more. Raise your voice, speak your truth, listen to others, and understand why they are hurting, too. Look beyond yourself, come together, and find ways to work for the greater good.
I promise you, I will do the same.
Sending an outpouring of love to you all,
